Forces Reunited 'hacker' questioned by police
A man has been questioned by police over a bid to hack into a military equivalent of the popular Friends Reunited website. Officers from Wiltshire Police executed a warrant at a property in Chorley, Lancashire, yesterday morning in connection with an investigation into an attack on the Forces Reunited site. A 29-year-old man, who was arrested at the address, has since been bailed pending further inquiries. Officers from the Wiltshire force's hi-tech crime unit seized a number of computers at the address which will now be examined. A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "The man has been bailed for further inquiries and will be reporting to a local police station in due course." The website, which is based in Wiltshire, is not connected to Friends Reunited but operates in a similar way putting current and former members of the armed services in contact through the internet. It boasts a database of more than 150,000 members across the army, navy, marines, RAF and Territorial Army as well as civilians with military connections.
