Vernier Networks Releases Security Update to Immediately Identify and Remediate Systems Susceptible to the Latest Microsoft Windows Vulnerabilities
Vernier Networks today announced that the company has made available an immediate security update that will give customers the ability to scan, detect, and remediate all network systems that are susceptible to the latest Microsoft Windows vulnerabilities.
As announced by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), one of the vulnerabilities announced could impact government systems, private industry and critical infrastructure, as well as individual home users. Vernier recommends that all customers immediately download this update from the Vernier support website at http://www.verniernetworks/support and enable the ability to scan all systems and ensure they are properly patched before allowing them to access services on the network.
"The sheer volume and severity of the announced vulnerabilities make it hard for organizations to employ traditional security techniques to mitigate threats before they are exploited," said Simon Khalaf, chief executive officer for Vernier Networks. "The Vernier NAC solution offers a game-changing approach to detect and remediate all vulnerable endpoints before they gain access to the network and get exploited. This immediately mitigates the risks associated with these announced vulnerabilities."
The leader in Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, Vernier updates its Security Scan Library on a regular basis according to the latest threats that are discovered and patched in the marketplace today. In order to give customers the immediate ability to mitigate threats from vulnerable systems, Vernier offers all customers an email notification service that directs them to the latest scan updates, and provides directions on how to ensure that all systems are patched before network access is granted.
In addition to the ability to scan, detect, and remediate all vulnerable systems, the Vernier NAC solutions also ensure that all users can be properly authenticated before accessing the network and that all systems are granted only the minimal level of network access necessary for users based on their roles in the organization. All failures to authenticate, or detection of systems that are not properly patched, are immediately logged, and alerts can be sent to ensure that the organizations regulatory and IT compliance objectives are met.
With the recently announced EdgeWall 8800 series product, even the network communications for a system with granted access can be scanned in real time for vulnerabilities, and newly affected systems can be quarantined instantly before they can impact the rest of the network. This level of authentication, validation, authorization, inspection, and quarantine / remediation is unprecedented in the market today for a Network Access Control (NAC) solution, and is only available from Vernier Networks.
