Akonix L7 Enterprise is an enterprise-class IM management gateway to bring security, management, reporting and regulatory compliance to unsupervised and uncontrolled enterprise IM. L7 Enterprise provides the gateway to mediate access to both public and enterprise IM, enforce policies on appropriate IM use, protect the network and end users from IM-based viruses and attacks, and monitor and log all IM conversations.

- Enterprise IM - (LCS, OCS, Sametime, Jabber) - Monitors and archives enterprise Instant Messaging
- Public IM - Monitors AIM, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger messages for malware, spam, and content. Archives to external corporate archiving platforms.
- BlackBerry - Provides message archiving for BlackBerry SMS, PIN-to-PIN, Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile, IBM Lotus Sametime Mobile and MindAlign Mobile Instant Messaging technologies.
- Online Conferencing Module (OCS) - Allows or blocks use of online conferencing in Microsoft OCS 2007. Enforces policy by ensuring only authorized applications may be used.
- VoIP Module (OCS) - Allows or blocks use of VoIP in Microsoft OCS 2007. Enforces policy by ensuring only authorized applications may be used.

- L7 Remote Security Agent - Client software for enforcing policy on off-network computers. Allows or blocks use of IM and P2P applications. Enforces policy by ensuring only authorized applications may be used, even when computers are off network.
- Electronic Fax - Sets global policy on the use of server based or network based electronic faxing. Enforces policy by ensuring only authorized applications may be used.
- 3rd Party Archiving - Integrated connections to external archiving (typically email archiving) platforms.
