The AirGuard 3e-527S-2 is the only wireless communications server engineered specifically for public transportation and emergency vehicle operation, featuring 802.11a/b/g dual radios with an integrated 8 port switch. The 3e-527S-2 allows all of your vehicle-based equipment to exchange data with back-end systems while the vehicle is parked at a depot or other location with WiFi wireless broadband access.

To connect all of your vehicle sub-systems, such as fare readers, announcement systems, right- of-way, navigation, or vehicle operations monitoring, we provide an integrated firewall protected 8 port LAN switch with dual radio wireless interfaces. That allows all of your vehicle-based equipment to exchange data with back-end systems while the vehicle is parked at a depot or other location with WiFi wireless broadband access. To protect your valuable back-end systems, especially fare transaction data, from unauthorized access, the 3e-527S-2 supports the advanced 802.11i security standard.
Vehicle sub-systems data is exchanged at up to 108 Mbps using super G or turbo A protocols. While in operation, the Telematics package allows remote and local monitoring of vehicle location through the integrated GPS module with position reporting through GSM-GPRS WAN access. Sub-system data can also be exchanged using the GPRS service, although at narrowband throughput.
The 3e-527S-2 includes a DC power supply designed to accept variable input voltage with noise and over-voltage conditions typical of vehicle power systems.
